YOUR UNIVERSITY NEEDS YOU…TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR NEW STUDENTS
Student Buddy Scheme
Do you want to help our new students? Do you have one to two hours a week spare to help introduce a new international student to University life?
Did you know that…
“73% of employers would employ a candidate with volunteering experience over one without”
www.timebank.org.uk.2009
RGU Student Buddies
The Student Services Department is now recruiting buddies to support the January intake of new international students.
Volunteering as a Student Buddy is a unique and rewarding opportunity to help new students adapt to life in the University and to Aberdeen more generally.
What is Expected From Me?
You should be able to commit to one to two hours a week, for one month, and approximately an hour per fortnight for a further two to three months.
What are the rewards?
Valuable work experience
Work towards an MV Award
Enhance your CV
Make new friends
Receive formal recognition of your involvement in the scheme
The opportunity to attend the Student Awards Ceremony in Spring 2011
What sort of person are you looking for?
We are looking for students with:
First class communication skills
A demonstrable knowledge of RGU as well as the City of Aberdeen
A genuine desire to help new students
Next steps
